Meredith's friend Tristan was in town visiting from Boston. We decided
to hop the 6 train uptown (waaaay uptown) to check out the
Holiday Reindeer at the Bronx Zoo!
Check out the rotunda at the zoo all decked out for the holidays!
The trees were decorated with lights...
...and, um, peacocks.
In a big pen we found THE REINDEER!
Holy, crap! Reindeer!
I guess reindeer are diurnal, because they were all sleepy
and chill by the time we got there.
Chubby, lounging reindeer nuggets! After we realized that
we weren't going to get to witness a holiday trampling or
goring of a toddler we decided to make the rounds to check
out some of the other "Holiday Animals"...
...like this, uh, camel.
Is that what the Three Wise Men rode on? Ok, I guess it qualifies
then.

I never realized how much I like camels! They're pretty neato!
My favorite animal is a giraffe and camels actually kinda
look quite a bit like giraffes in the face.
I also never realized how fucking huge they are! This one
stood up...
...and everyone was all "Holy shit!"
Then he ran away.
They were getting ready to close up the zoo and they must've
had some secret ultrasonic camel whistle - cus at 9:45 on
the dot, homeboy here abruptly got up and trotted himself
into his closed-off pen!
Meredith posed with the reindeer one last time and then we
headed off to check out..
...the monkey house! Some other type of tamarin.
Meredith had tamarin hair because of her hat.
Love monkeys!
A family of baby capucians!
After the monkey house, we had just enough time to check
out the seal and sea lion tank before we got the boot.
